Ethics, Sustainability and ESG in Product Management
Master the integration of ethics, sustainability, and ESG principles into product management. Drive responsible innovation and create lasting impact in your projects.
Welcome to our course "Ethics, Sustainability and ESG in Product Management".
This course has been created for product managers and other professionals involved in the product design, development and delivery, as well as for business leaders and specialists who are involved in definition and execution of sustainability strategy for their organisations.
Product managers sit at the intersection of strategy, design, engineering, and business operations. They can shape what gets built and how it’s delivered. With a holistic view of customer needs, market dynamics, and operational constraints, PMs have the power to embed sustainability into product decisions — from material choices and supply chains to accessibility and product lifecycle impacts. PMs influence over priorities, metrics, and cross-functional collaboration means that they can turn sustainability from a side initiative into a core value driver, aligning impact with innovation and profitability.
In this course, we will refresh your knowledge of sustainability and ESG concepts, and we will examine how these concepts can be integrated into existing product management frameworks. We will examine how existing product management tools, frameworks, and methodologies can be systematically enhanced to incorporate sustainability principles, thereby creating products that simultaneously deliver financial returns and positive environmental and social impact. By leveraging specialised sustainability assessments, reconceptualising market segmentation through an environmental and social lens, reframing competitive analysis to account for ESG factors, and embedding sustainability metrics throughout your product development lifecycle, you can create an operating model that makes sustainable product development a foundation for commercial success of your business. In the second part of the course, we will look at examples of what ethics and sustainability means for physical and digital products. While it would be impossible to cover all types of physical products, I chose for this course to look at the fashion industry as one of the most unsustainable and polluting sectors of the economy.
For this course, we invited three fantastic speakers:
Genia Mineeva, expert in circularity, and the founder of the award-winning circular design studio and brand BEEN London,
Tansy Hoskins, the award-winning author, journalist, independent researcher and social justice campaigner, and
Ivan Glushenkov, Tech entrepreneur, digital product manager, AI consultant, and multiple hackathons prizewinner.
These people are truly passionate about sustainability, they are doing something to change the world we are living in, and I hope they will inspire you for action.
Please enrol if you want to master the integration of ethics, sustainability and ESG practices into your product management work. Drive responsible innovation and create lasting impact in your projects.
